Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams is putting up more than $2 million in funding to help local houses of worship to develop affordable housing on underutilized church properties across the Borough of Churches.

Brisa Builders, in cooperation with the Housing Partnership Development Corporation, acquired a seven-parcel development site in Brownsville from the Church of God of East Flatbush for $12.6 million. 

Freeport is reviewing six redevelopment bids for the Plaza West building, one of the village's longest-standing and largest eyesores.
